Failing ocp4ngx during flight

Post by mneoud »

Hi Roark,

Bought the OC4BA v2 software but i get some strange issues. Don't know exactly when it started to occure, but i suspect it was after an install of REX. I removed REX again but that didnt solve it.
What is happening.
After starting a flight, it happens that ocp4ngx stops out of the blue during the flight. When i pause the flight and go back to the windowed mode with ALT+ENTER i can restart OCP4NGX by clicking on the image of the b737 and then the cockpit, and hereafter clicking on the c/o button of the mcp i can continue with the flight.
Trying to solve the error, i looked in the windows event viewer and it appeares that the problem is caused by microsoft visual c++ module MSVCR100.dll. So i uninstalled it and reinstalled a newer one.
These actions did not solve the problem so this morning i did a testflight and i try to give you as much as information as possible.

I am running WIN7 X64, Intel I7 2600K 3,4Ghz, 16Gb ram, Nvidia GTX650, FSX with SP2
PMDG 737NGX and OC4BAv2 with ocp4ngx_v2.2.ssi script because i don't have the overhead.
Test;
- The flight is from Eindhoven to Stornoway (EHEHEGPO)
- after 5 minutes, still in the SID i am losing my opencockpit devices (MCP,EFIS,COM,NAV and ADF) because OCP4NGX.exe has stopped.
- Pause flight and restart OCP4NGX and after that i continue with the flight.
- I can continue this flight and the the error doesn't happen again.
- After landing and stopping FSX i am going to check the event viewer.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for detailed info when reporting this bug? / issue/ you have with OCP4NGX.exe.

This issue have been reported by others as well, so there is sure something solve.

So far I have not been able to find a solution as I can not reproduce the fault on my PC. I have never had this problem.

Could you try to install the latest OCP4NGX, as I prefer to dig into the problem with the latest code.

I have sent you a link to the latest OC4BA v2 incl. a new updated OCP4NGX.exe in a private meassage.

Try it and see if the issue is still there.

Again, thanks for reporting.

Hi Roark,

Thanks for the reply. I will try the new OCP4NGX today with the same flight and circumstances and will let you know how it went.

Hi Roark,

Sorry for the delayed response but it has taken som time to test things.

I managed to get rid of the msvcr100.dll errors. This was due to the fact that i did not install the microsoft visual c++ packages for windows 7 sp1.
I uninstalled them and reinstalled the packages for windows 7 SP1. But now i get only errors for OCP4NGX that is with the old OC4BAv2 as well as the new OC4BAv2.
With the new driver OCP4NGX crashes much faster. It crashes every time when i connect the ground power. when i start OCP4NGX again it crashes randomly about 4 or 5 times before being aiborn. In flight stil during the SID i had as much as 4 crashes. It makes no difference what ssi file i use 2.2 or 2.8 both give these ceashes alone 2.2 slightly less crashes.

Today i will do some more research, or hoping to get a solution from you, else i am going to build up the system from scratch.

Here are the results.

In the event viewer i get this (i give you only one because apart from the timestamp they are all the same);

1.Windows error reporting

Hi,

Well, the only differences is that from the 2012 redistributables i have version 11.0.61030, which seems newer than yours so this couldn't be the problem. But to be honest, i have no clue why OCP4NGX crashes all the time. I have been using the free version OC4BAv1.1 since the beginning and the payware version OC4BAv2 since two months and both never gave any problems until last week.

There must have been some change on my system what is causing OCP4NGX to crash. I have looked at the restore points created by my system but i only have the restore points left created after reinstalling the visual c++ reditributables. All the others are gone.

I am almost sure that the problem is not caused by your software but what it is?... I don't know.
I am not willing to spend more time for getting this fixed so the quickest way for me right now is to rebuild the system from scratch. I'm going to start with that right away so that i can do some flying the last days of my hollidays ;-).

Hi,

Do you have the 2010 c++ redistributables for x86?

Read this also http://forum.avsim.net/topic/346413-mic ... ibutables/

I find this issue a strange one and it is very hard to find a solution as I can't reproduce it on my PC's. I have tested the software on several PC, but no crashes have been seen.

All my PC's are running Win 8.1

I too find it a strange issue, it must have been caused by some software changes on my system but i can't recall what it must have been.
